Monkey! has been a part of the kink community in Chicago for quite some time. He was active with the Chicago Rope and Mummification group and contributed to the regional community by participating as President of The Next Generation Chicago (TNGC) and significant roles in other clubs, groups and events. Leon is currently serving as Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Leather Archives & Museum.
He presents bondage and other BDSM-related classes regularly at national events such as Shibaricon, Madtown Kinkfest, Beyond Leather, Black Rose, Kinky Kollege, Sinsations in Leather and many more. His fine art photography has been on display at numerous art shows such as SEAF, The Dirty Show, the Kinsey Institute Art Show and his work is now in the permanent collection of the Kinsey Institue. He recently held a one-person exhibit in the Guest Artist Gallery of the Leather Archives & Museum. In addition, he has photographed several book covers for community authors on BDSM/sprituality topics. Leon also regularly performs dramatic rope burlesque for venues around Chicago.
